Although this special bar can be used to shampoo your hair/locs, it is made to clarify & detox the SCALP and is great for people who suffer from dry itchy scalp, seborrhea and dandruff. Follow up with the "Ooh!" Dry Itchy Scalp Relief

This shampoo is not for everyone...just those of us who suffer from drandruff, a very dry, itchy and irritated scalp, and/or seborrhea. I make no medical claims here. Please be proactive in your scalp and hair care. Visit your Dermatologist (specializes in skin disorders), or better yet, a Trichologist (specializes in hair and scalp disorders) if you suspect you have a more serious scalp condition, in which case, this treatment may not help you.

Not only is this a beautiful scalp detox bar, but it’s very effective at gently cleansing an itchy and irritated scalp. This special scalp shampoo bar is made with activated charcoal, which gives it its naturally rich black color and detoxifying properties for the skin & scalp. The charcoal, which is suspended in a gentle glycerin base, is very effective at eliminating odors, adsorbing and drawing out excess oil and environmental toxins that block hair follicles. Product buildup, dead skin and flakes are gently exfoliated and easily rinsed away. The antimicrobial and antiseptic qualities of the essential oil blend (see below in ingredient list), which include Rosemary, tea tree, and clary sage oils, will leave your scalp feeling super clean and invigorated. Protein-rich goat’s milk is added to help soothe the scalp.

Instructions:

What you’ll need:

- a small spray bottle or small glass bowl containing 2-4 ounces of hot water

- an appropriate size chunk of of “Ooh!” Scalp DeTox Shampoo Bar

-

a soft applicator brush or wash cloth or fingertips

Step 1: Cut off a small chunk of shampoo and melt in hot water.

You can do this quickly by placing the shampoo in a microwave safe glass bowl or measuring cup and melt in microwave for 15 seconds.

Step 2: Lift and separate locs/hair to expose scalp and mist thoroughly with plain warm water.

Massage water into scalp for 30 seconds. Scalp should be damp - NOT drippy wet.

Step 3:

Mist or apply the “Ooh!” shampoo solution directly on the scalp until the entire scalp is covered. Do this in sections. Spray solution. Work up a small lather or emulsion (looks like lotion) and move on to next section. Solution should not be running down your face and neck. If this happens, you're spraying too much at one time and wasting product. Prevent from getting into your eyes by wiping away with a wash cloth or towel. Note: You can also gently apply the shampoo chunk directly on the scalp, but you will need to continue to spray the sections of scalp prior to rubbing the shampoo chunk as you move throughout the scalp.

Don't allow water to drip down your face and into eyes. Keep a towel or wash cloth handy.

Step 4:

Cover with a plastic cap and let solution sit on scalp for at least 3-5 minutes.

Step 5: Remove plastic cap.

If you have any solution left, mix with a little water and lightly spray your scalp again. Just enough so that you can work up another small lather or emulsion.

Step 6:

Now massage and manipulate your scalp with the pads of your fingertips in a short back and forth motions (not circular) throughout your entire scalp. Don't expect a lot of suds.

Step 7:

At this point, you can complete your treatment with a very thorough rinse in the sink or during a shower. Allow the water to run through your locs/hair while you gently squeeze the length of your hair to help with the rinsing process. Rinse thoroughly and then rinse some more (until water runs clear)

Note: Discard any remaining product once it has been melted down and do not save to re-use. The detox bar is a nature-based product with very little preservatives. It will not keep or remain sustainable for any lenth of time once water has been added to it. The bar however will last for many months (up to a year) if kept in an air tight container or ziploc baggie.

It’s up to you if you think you need to follow up with your favorite shampoo or one of the HealthyLocs Shampoo Bars, after your scalp treatment.

Just concentrate on your locs/hair this time.

After towel drying your locs/hair, make sure you replace natural oils lost, by lightly oiling you scalp with “Ooh!” Dry Itchy Scalp Relief or Loc Luv.

Your scalp, locs/hair will looooove you for it! Definitly follow up with HealthyLocs Loc Luv hair and body oil on your hair. You'll see, feel and smell the difference. No need to shampoo the oil out. Each "Ooh!" Shampoo Bar weighs between 5.5 and 6 ounces - a much more substantial bar than most shampoo bars on the market that weigh between 3.5 and 4 ounces. This is a sulfate free and paraben free shampoo bar, which means it does not contain the harsh detergents that have been known to cause irritation and scalp issues in some individuals. This shampoo bar is much gentler on your hair and non-stripping to your scalp.
