Hey Healthy Lockers!

Look How Beautiful

I received two emails today from Shannon and Sharon, who both brought to my attention that although I invited them to my Lilla Rose Independent Consultant site, I did not make it clear as to HOW to sign up to be notified of discounts, specials that the company will occasionally send to you on my behalf. Once you’re a member of that site, you’ll be notified how to access the video tutorials on how to style your locs with the flexi clips.  So watch the video now.  You’ll be re-directed to my Lilla Rose consultant website once the video stops.  The first instructional video will be ready April 1, 2012

I may not be Irish, but I sure LOVE being Nappy…LOL!

Hey Healthy Lockers!

I’m still on hiatus, but very busy upgrading this site with new content and articles.  Didn’t realize

Phyllis' Birthday Broadcast

birthday broadcast

how much I’ve neglected it since I started doing the live broadcasts. I’ve learned that I have to create a balance between the two. I love sharing and educating with the live broadcasts, but they take lots of energy to pull off, and I’m usually getting that all together for 4- 6 hours immediately before the start of the broadcasts. (If you’ve ever noticed the beads of perspiration, the heavy breathing and the flared nostrils…that’s why! LOL!)  It’s all good though and I love doing them.

The live broadcasts are on hold until April or so.  So expect to see a few more informative posts and pages  and some subtle  design changes to the blog over the next several weeks.

If you haven’t watched the video in the post under this one.  Go do it now.  I’ve just added beautiful hair clips and other accessories to the product line .  I don’t physically have them yet.  They’re being shipped as I type this, but the video in the post below will give you a good idea of what they look like in the locs.  I won’t be making them available on this blog (just too many to post here).  Besides, I like super easy.  The company, Lilla Rose, provides free replicated sites…see, like I said –  super easy.  I like that!  My clients will love me again and I will be back in their good graces.  They’ll get first dibs on the 80 or so clips that I ordered.

So after watching the video and you want to get your own, just go to the site and order.  It’s a very easy process and fully automated.  But, if you feel you have the luck of the Irish, and want to get yours for FREE …then continue reading.

Flexi Clip Loc Updo

Flexi Clip Loc Updo

Lilla Rose Flexible Clip Hair Barrette For Locs, Sisterlocks, Dreadlocks And Natural Hair!

Hey Healthy Lockers!

First, I want to thank my friend, Yvonne from Maryland, who I met when she traveled to my home for a consultation on her Sisterlocks.  She was wearing a stunning hair adornment, which immediately attracted my attention.  Yvonne shared with me how she absolutely loved her Lilla Rose Flexi Clip and then offered to let me try it in my locks.

I was totally impressed by the sturdiness of the piece and how well made it was.  I knew right then that I needed to follow up and get more information about this beautiful piece of hair jewelry.  I definitely wanted to offer it to my hair clientele.

A Great Hair Barrette For Locs, Sisterlocks, Dreadlocks and Natural Hair!

Well, of course, that totally got put on the back burner, until just recently.  I was browsing the internet for inspiration for my new loc jewelry for Spring, when I came across the  flexi clip again.  Yes! It was the same one from months before…Lilla Rose.

This time I did my research right there.  I even called  the company directly with my questions.   Deanna, a nice and “patient” woman (I can be a bit direct in my question asking and information gathering…lol), did a great job at answering my questions and addressing my concerns.  She also recommended a consultant, Paula, who would be willing to help me along.  I met Paula over the phone the next day and had a really inspiring conversation with her.  She even emailed me several pictures of locked hair enhanced with the flexi clips, of which I promptly included in this blog post and in the video below.  You can also watch it on my channel on YouTube.

Whenever I meet women or see pictures like this, representing women who obviously love their locs just as much as I do, I get such an incredible and fulfilling  feeling inside.  My hair journey involves educating women about their God given gift of natural beauty and natural healthy hair.  Educating and  helping other women transition from chemically damaged hair into healthy natural hair is the gift that I share.  After 12 years of locking hair, I STILL get excited about this stuff…at the expense of loosing well-needed sleep.  It’s 4:30 am and I haven’t been to bed yet.  Still high on being able to share this incredible “find” with all of you!

OK…going to bed now!

You ladies are going to love the Lilla Rose Flexible Clip Hair Barrette along with the other hair jewelry for your locs.  You’ll be impressed with the selections…promise!  Check out the video!

What Are Sisterlocks?

Exactly What Are Sisterlocks?

What Are Sisterlocks - Phyllis' Sisterlocks 10 years

What Are Sisterlocks? - Phyllis' Sisterlocks 10 years locked

Hey Healthy Lockers!

It still surprises me to learn that many women still don’t know about Sisterlocks.  I’ve had my Sisterlocks for almost 12 years and I’m amazed when I get the question, “What are Sisterlocks?”

I’ve answered this question probably 1000 times  over the years and when I answer it, I like to quickly explain things where people can get a good visual of what I’m talking about.  My pat answer would be (and still is), “It’s like growing your own micros with your own natural hair.  No more buying fake hair; no more sitting hours to have them put in just to return in a few weeks to pay someone to take them out and start the crazy cycle  of  putting them in again.”  Then I’d provide the address to their site.

How Do You Get More Information on Sisterlocks?

The official Sisterlocks website is the best place to start for information, particularly if you’re looking for a certified consultant or Sisterlock’s trainee.  There’s also a page that answers the frequently asked questions about Sisterlock and the process.

According to the website, “Sisterlocks is a trademark company founded in 1993 by Dr. JoAnne Cornwell.”  You can get more information at the “Official Sisterlocks Site”.

However, some of the absolute best info regarding sister locks  can be found on established personal blogs about Sisterlocks and the hundreds of videos that you can find on YouTube , including My YouTube Page and other video sharing sites.  From those, you will also get to witness the incredible  beauty, versatility of hairstyles and freedom from having your own Sisterlocks.  Bad hair days will literally become a thing of the past.  Let me share  with you a couple of my clients with Sisterlocks.

Within the next few weeks I will scour the internet and dedicate an entire page to some of the best videos that represent what Sisterlocks are; how much they cost, finding a consultant, what’s involved with maintenance and grooming along with lots of other great information.  If you’ve signed up to receive my emails (by filling out the form to the right with your name and your best email) you’ll be notified when I stream my live broadcast from my home.  Not to worry though, if you miss the live show.  The live shows are recorded and you can always view them at your leisure by clicking here…View Replay Of Live Broadcasts so that you can make the best possible decision as to whether Sisterlocks are for you!

It’s always great sharing with each and everyone of you.  I absolutely love helping sisters transition into any and all types of locs.  I hope that this information has helped you move closer to making the decision to loc.  If you have locs already, regardless of what type or how you maintain them, you’ll always find great information here with me at  Please feel free to share this site with others and don’t forget to connect with me on  FaceBook To Find Out More Of What Sisterlocks Are. Connect with me and my friends on my FaceBook Fan Page For Sisterlocks & Locs!
