One of my subscribers contacted me about cutting her long long locks. She will be featured on the Dec 5 live broadcast. It’s sure to be a good one and a great opportunity for you to ask questions. She also sharedd this video. It’s a video about a news reporter, Michelle Richie, whodecided to go natural and share her story on national TV.
About a year ago, I shared with you my first instructional video featuring "Springlocks". The Springlocks curling technique was shown on one of my clients, Antoinette, who had Sisterlocks and was a huge hit on YouTube (before they took it down for whatever reason). I’ve put up another version of it since.
The main question I get is can the SpringLocks be done on larger locs or traditional locks…and the answer is absolutely YES! I just completed two new videos about the Springlocks in traditional locs. Part 1, which features my sister, Robin, from North Carolina, is good to watch because it shows how I prepared her "neglected" locks before curling her locks. It’s fun to watch, because we got that sister banter going on. You would never think that the Video Locktician would have a sister who does the total opposite of what I teach my clients and how I care for my own hair…but that’s family and Robin’s locks do clean up well. So I’ve always said, do what works best for you and your locks…and Robin does that. I love that girl!
Part 2 features the amazing results of Robin and another friend and client of mine, Roz.. Roz’s entire loc journey is on my laptop and will be featured in my first Ebook on how to lock hair.
I tell you what…I don’t know what it is about the Springlocks, but I”ve done three videos featuring this technique and in all of them, you definitely see the "SEXY" transformation in the personality and the confidence that comes along with wearing the SpringLocks. Don’t take my word for it. Check it out yourself!
This post and video will be so different from anything else on my site, but I had to share it with you. It still makes tears come to my eyes!
My good friend and long time client, Stephanie, has a tremendous sense of humor and I can always count on her for at least one good belly laugh every six weeks when she gets her Sisterlocks re-tightened. (I’ve always told her that she’s in the wrong profession).
After grooming her daughter’s, Tiara, locks, Stephanie was persistent in getting me to turn on my laptop and view a prank on YouTube, where a pilot fakes falling asleep at the controls of a small airplane and his passenger is in hysterical fear. Well, the prank was actually hilarious and of course Stephanie and I found ourselves in an all out, foot stomping, leg crossing, eyes tearing, bent over, side splitting belly laugh!
During our uncontrolable laughter, her daughter, Tiara, picked up my Flip Cam and recorded the laughing marathon. Feel free to pass it along and share the laughter. I’m sure it will make someone else laugh at our expense. Remember to laugh out loud every now and again. It’s very cleansing for the soul. Enjoy!!!!
I’ve made it easy to share this page with your friends…click below.
I’m really excited to share this video with you. It’s not on YOUTUBE yet because it’s too long, but I wanted you to have the opportunity to see it in it’s entirety and without the distracting commercials on the LiveStream/Broadcast channel. However, still check out the replay of the live broadcast, because the chat session directly after the video was terrific. Lots of great questions were asked and many useful tips were shared. I’ll be coming back later to populate this post with the actual pictures that you see me taking during the video , along with some great feedback I continue to get from all of you.
My hope is that this video will give you some inspiration if you have very long locks and have been sitting on the fence about cutting your Sisterlocks or cutting your locs. You’ll get some great tips on cutting locks just by watching the video. ENJOY!!!
The next video is a live broadcasts that reveals my new haircut in the Springlocks. I absolutely loved it! You’ll see me wearing my new cut in the SpringLocks; I show the hair cutting video during the broadcast (which you can fast forward through) and then I show my hair in the SpringLocks Twist Out…Super Fab-U-Lous!!! This was a great broadcast and the viewers had many questions… You gotta see!
I’m testing another broadcasting system. I like it, but not sure, at this point, if I can set up a scheduling system like the first one. I get a chance to answer a few email questions that I didn’t have time to address during last week’s live broadcast and show you pictures of the versatility of the Springlocks.
If you want to participate "live" by asking me a question over the phone, please send me an email with your name, your question, a photo (optional) and your telephone number and I will call you during the first half of the broadcast. to allow you to ask your questions
You’ve gotta check out the latest "Live" broadcast replay. The broadcasts are chock full of great hair locking information to troubleshoot your lock issues. Replays stay up on the website for a limited time…so go there now and check them out. There’s also what I call little 10-15 minute snippets of footage of the life of the Video Locktician…raw and unedited, but FUN! I’m introducing my wonderful and talented Locktician, Jovan. I’m grooming her Sisterlocks and then there’s another snippet where she’s grooming mine. Click here to go there now: http://videolocktician.com/live-broadcasts
Although I’m good at documenting my client’s loc journey through photos and videos, I realized that I have just a few pictures to document my own. In response to your continual requests to see photos of my loc journey, I spent most of the day looking for photos of my hair and was able to pull together a small collection from over a 10 year period.
**Testimonial** Girl, you certainly knew what you were doing when you sneaked the little sample of Ooh! oil into my last order. All I had to do was open the bottle and — BAM! Gotta have it! It feels SO good on my scalp, and the aroma is pretty much intoxicating (especially after getting into it after a hectic day at work). Thanks for your wonderful products that are just for "us." I’m already hooked on the Conditioning Mist and the Soul Purpose products for use on my hair. Now this. I am so happy to have found you. You’ve made it a such a joy to have locs, Phyllis. Bless you! –Karen (Louisville, Kentucky)
