Thanks Lakeeysha. You’ll soon discover that I’m a do it type of person even though all the pieces of the puzzle aren’t there. This site is a work in progress and as I learn about all the functionality that I would like to include (shopping cart for some phenomenal products that I have in store for you) I figure I can at least keep you entertained with the videos and photos. I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am with ur site and to also let you know that this was a long time coming. I’m 2.5 years strong and I still stuggle with maintence,because I started with a comb coil and being that I was affected by Hurricane Katrina I re-located and tried desparately to find a stylist, and when I did I never went back because she used products in my hair as if I had a perm LOLOL OH NO!!! I went online and found a tool that helped me maintain them but I think by using that tool I did more harm than good even lost a few in the process. I’m so interested in what you’ve done and I’m so looking forward to hearing more from you soon in the near future. My fiance’ has shoulder length hair(S Wave pattern) and he doesn’t want to cut his hair to start them,but he’s ready any advice Thanks your for your time
Hi Mary, thanks for your comments/compliments. My preference for starting traditional locks have always been the comb coils. Using this technique on a softer texture with a loose wave pattern will take longer to lock than say for instance a person who has a very tight curl pattern. Doesn’t matter, though, all hair textures will lock and it doesn’t matter how long the hair is. Starting locks with a tool or plaits or twist, may be an easier way for some who want their locks to appear “neater” or who fear that their locks will continually unravel.
Yes, I agree, coil combs are the way to go!
